Duo GuitarCello
With over two decades of musical experience, the Duo GuitarCello,
consisting of guitarist Lucas Penteado and cellist Jonas Moncaio,
transcends the boundary between classical and popular music they incorporate their roots in regional Brazilian music, which they have been immersed in since childhood, reflecting their versatility and originality
in their compositions. They explore a wide range of Brazilian
genres and rhythms in their work.
Over the course of more than a decade, the Duo GuitarCello has been contributing to the strengthening of instrumental Brazilian music, particularly in the interior of São Paulo.
In 2021 and 2022, through the Vertentes Musicais project, funded by the Cultural Incentive Law, they performed over 30 shows in theaters, churches, schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. Their mission was to reach different segments of the population.
In 2023, also supported by the Cultural Incentive Law, the Duo recorded their first original album, "Duo GuitarCello - Brazilian Strings", which is set to be released in December of this year. They will accompany the release with a series of concerts across the state of São Paulo during the first half of 2024.
